a conversation in the car with daddy over the weekend
jasper: daddy, how come santa doesn't come visit our house and bring us presents?
p: what do you mean? there are presents under the tree.
jasper: but mommy wrapped those for my friends. and the other ones are from my aunties and uncles.
p: ... uh...
(mommy is rushing to target right now for a gift and new wrapping paper)

haha. i totally believed in santa when i was little. i remember waking up and being so excited to check out the presents and was in disbelief how he knew my name!
ah, fun times! it's so fun being a kid.
@juiru - i know! and i almost cried when p told me
the story because i don't want to ruin it for jasper! this is the
first year he really understands christmas and santa, so i want him to
believe for the fun of it all.
Jasper is so smart! He knows how to piece things together.
I never told my kids about Santa Claus... maybe that's something they pick up in school? I also didn't buy both kids gifts this year... they are still too young to notice. I'll start once they are old enough to ask me for things.
aw, he's so smart! good thing that conversation occured. so sweet that you're are rushing to fix the situtation.
@babybitez - jasper definitely picked it up from school because i know that we never mentioned santa otherwise. and this is also the first year that we actually bought a gift for jasper too, only because of this situation! haha. poor milo will not be getting any gifts from "santa" this year. i have 2 more years with him... i hope.
but i can't wait to see the surprise on jasper's face come xmas morning.
awww you'll have to tell us about Jaspers reaction come Xmas day.
we're not planning on giving claire any Christmas gifts either. (i know, bad! but we give her things throughout the year). we will also start the santa tradition when she finally "gets" it. merry Christmas to you and your family!! :)
